Dongguan, November 3, 2025 — Dongguan Hontech Glass Products Co., Ltd. announced today the successful launch of China’s first domestically developed concave glass-ceramic induction cooktop panel after two years of independent R&D, filling the long-standing technological gap that relied on imports in this field.
Designed specifically for high-power induction cooktops exceeding 3kW, the concave panel employs glass-ceramic hot-bending technology, achieving international standards in critical performance metrics such as high-temperature resistance, impact resistance, and thermal stability. Having passed multiple industry reliability tests, the product can fully replace existing imported solutions and is suitable for widespread application in commercial cooking appliances and high-end household induction cooktops.
“The concave structure imposes extremely high requirements on glass forming precision and thermal performance,” stated the head of Hongtai Glass’s R&D department. “Through material formula optimization and process innovation, we successfully solved the challenge of uniform (devitrification) after hot-bending.”
Currently, the concave panel has entered mass production and is being supplied to major domestic induction cooktop manufacturers. This technological breakthrough not only enhances China’s glass-ceramic deep-processing capabilities but also provides downstream (complete appliance enterprises) with a more competitive localized supporting option.
